What are the
costs of shipping a flat?
We charge for the actual shipping, tax, and handling.
2 and 2.5 inch flats are shipped in 18x18x8 inch boxes. 4 inch sizes
typically need a 20x20x12 inch size. The actual cost to ship 13 pounds
(average weight of a flat) priority mail in the 2 and 2.5 inch size is
about $35. Cost of shipping 13 pounds in larger size box is about $45.

There is a California State tax of 8.75%. There is no tax if you have a
California State sellers permit.
We do charge $12 for handling. That charge
include the price of the box, supplies, and an average time of 1 hour and 15 minutes
to collect, package, and deliver the plants to the post office. The
typical cost of shipping one 2 inch flat to the East Coast is around $50.
The typical cost of shipping the same flat to California is around $35.

Do you ship
to Hawaii, Alaska or outside the United States?
No, we can only ship inside the
continental United States.
What type of
payments do you accept?
We accept cash, or check. I can also take credit
card information over the phone.

credit card information will be kept confidential.
What is the shipping time?
Orders can be sent out within 1 to 5 business days.
Orders are sent priority mail and usually arrive within 2-3 days.
How do I get
started with ordering a flat?
You can email at
luis@highsierranursery.com, and let me
know what sizes, when they plants would be needed, and weather they were
for sun or shade conditions. I will let you know what is in stock,
and/or email pictures of what is available.
Once I have the emailed pictures of current flats, can I 'mix and match'?
Yes, we are happy to try and get customers only the plants they want.
When do I actually pay?
After the plants have been approved by the purchaser through pictures,
and the plants are weighed at the actual time of shipping. Only then
can I get the cost to ship, combine all the costs, and give a grand
total.
